Real jobs in a real world
More than any other social enterprise in Herefordshire,
Bizmatch is meeting the real challenge of providing
sustainable employment opportunities for disadvantaged
people within financially sustainable businesses.
Workmatch has established
four social enterprises (companies). They
provide the necessary environment for learning
or re-establishing skills of the workplace,
but also generate much needed income to
support the Workmatch charity.
The companies trade independently, but for
administrative efficiency their accounting
is handled centrally under the broad heading
of Bizmatch.
In March 2007, Bizmatch became one of the
first organisation's nationally to achieve
full 'Star' Social Firm accreditation. This
means that at least 25% of paid employment
hours are earned by people with disabilities
or requiring long term support. |

The four companies
are:
Spokes Bicycles in Hereford and Ross on
Wye recovers and renovates previously owned
bikes.
Can-Do Catering provide
a cold food buffet service within Herefordshire.
Only fresh locally produced ingredients
are used and are competitively priced and
healthy. Can-Do
also specialises in mail fulfillment and
packaging.
This company restores and sells antique
furniture.
Regard is the horticultural arm of Workmatch
and is based at Lugwardine and Ledbury. |
